One of my personal favorites. A 1959 Lincoln Continental Convertible. At 227in long this car is a mammoth

jesus 227 inches is A LOT

that’s only ten inches shorter than a 90’s chevy/gmc full size truck with an extended cab and a 8ft bed.

I did a side-by-side comparison yesterday between the Capri’s stats and those of the 1990 Ford E350HD ClubWagon that we have, and shockingly, the Capri is longer and wider by fractions of an inch, within 7” of wheelbase, and just shy of the same curb weight (heavier than a base Club Wagon). Yes, it’s more car than a fifteen passenger van.

Definitely was my favorite feature of the Capri. The massive well mass of the car just made it so ridiculous!

I think the reason the fins cant inward is to structurally resist the pull of its gravity well. Did you see my accidental front-paging?

Just read it. Very cool. I never thought about that before. It is too bad they knocked down the Wixom plant. I had no idea it was connected to the GT as well

It looks like I can’t visit the prior plant either, not and get the Full Experience of Loewy era Lincoln. Boo:
